Temptalia's MAC To the Beach Collection Video

This is not my video. I do not take ANY credit for it. I just wanted to share with my readers because I found this to be incredibly helpful in narrowing my wish list down quite a bit. In all honesty I find myself feeling a little disappointed. I still want the blush, the high-light powder, sweet & punchy eyeshadow, and maybe the lip pencil and a couple eye pencils but everything else is either boring or ugly IMO. I was hoping the bronzing oil would be better. I see that there aren't any lustre drops swatches in this video and I missed out on Pink Rebel before so I might get that still. Anyways here it is and I hope you enjoy :)

Korres Skincare Review + Mini Giveaway

In honor of receiving my package from Korres today I did a video review of some of my favorite Korres skincare products.

I know I didn't really give specifics on the primer but I intend to now. I like this primer for several reasons. First of all the smell is amazing. I love pretty smelling things. This isn't over powering at all either. Second, this goes on like a smooth lotion. I love the way that feels. Similar to my Laura Mercier primer. This dries really fast as well and doesn't move aruond when I apply foundation. It does even my skin out a bit and really holds. Hours later my makeup still looks good and I don't feel oily. So this is definitely a primer I will keep in my stash.

If you want any info on anything else featured in this video please feel free to ask. I love sharing my experiences with all of you and want to give you all the info you need. Thanks :)

To be a part of the giveaway you must be 18 or older or have consent from your parents for me to send something to your home. You must be a subscriber to my youtube account. And I need you to leave me a comment letting me know you are interested in the items being given away. And remember, I would love to hear what you have to say about some of your favorite Korres products! Prizes include 1 korres guava body butter sample, 1 korres guava body wash, 1 korres wild rose mask plus some extra goodies!

And I wanted to say thank you and hello to all my new readers. I really appreciate the support. It really makes me feel good to know people like what I write enough to subscribe/follow! So thanks again!

MAC To the Beach Collection Wishlist!

So I am sure you all know that MACs new collection "To the Beach" is coming out this month and I am looking forward to swatching the hell out of it! If you want to see some pictures I highly recommend checking out Temptalia.com. I have decided to use my Nordstroms GC for this collection. These are the things that I think I will be most interested in getting:

Eyeshadow: Firecracker and Sweet & Punchy

Lipstick: Lazy Day

Lipglass: Easy Lounger, Flurry of Fun, and Splashing but I will probably only get Splashing though I want all three.

Lip Pencil: Life's a Breeze

High-Light Powder: Marine Life

Lustre Drops: Pink Rebel (this is being repromoted!!!)

Bronze Body Oil: Glowing

So I will be using my $50 Nordstroms GC for some of this and probably another $10-$20 on other stuff I want from this collection. So I have to make sure I get what I want because I am working with a tight budget. I suggest you check this out! The packaging is so pretty! I will make sure to do a review on all the products when I get them.

Little Update

Hey hey hey! So I have been really busy lately with new activities and my youtube channel. But I haven't forgotten about you! I have been purchasing so many new things and I want to share them ALL with you. But I need time to use them. I will say that I got some RoC Completelift eye cream and I am excited to try it. I was trying the L'Oreal Revitalift eye cream and it wasn't doing anything for me. But I kept seeing RoC mentioned on several websites repeatedly so I thought I would give it a try. I tried it on tonight, actually literally like 2 minutes ago and I feel a difference in my skin. It feels tighter. Which is what I want! I need to get rid of these bothersome wrinkles under my eyes! So I will continue to use this and let you know how it goes.

I also grabbed a Wet 'n Wild lipstick in 901B. It is supposedly a new formula. It reminds me of another lipstick but I cannot think of it right now. It is a really gorgeous pink though and I think I like the formula. I say I "think" because I tried it on when it was dark and wiped it off because I ate. So, I am going to try it again tomorrow and see how long it lasts. I will let you know :)

I bought some shaving gel from Wal Mart the other day and after using it twice it stopped pushing out product. So I got myself the eos shave cream. It is a shaving cream that you can use wet or dry. And I have been curious to try their products. I passed on some of the lip balms several times because I have so many already and I haven't really heard much about the brand so if you have used them please let me know what you think. Thanks :)

I also picked up a Rimmel Eyeful Crayon in 500 Stand Out which is a bright green. I LOVE greens so when I seen this I had to have it. I also grabbed one for my friend Bex who loves green as much as me. Also at CVS if you buy $10 worth of Rimmel products you get $3 extra bucks with your card! I haven't worn this on my eyes yet but I swatched it on my hand and it is beautiful. It has a lot of glitter in it, and I usually do not like glitter. But I think I can work with this. This is kind of like the NYX Jumbo Shadow Pencils but I think I like my NYX more. Plus NYX has many more colors to shoose from and they are cheaper than the Rimmel. The Rimmel pencils are like $7.49 I think. So I will work with this and let you guys know.

Thanks for reading!

Today's Face (prep and prime)

So today is a really lazy day. I haven't done anything except Jog (4 miles ya!) and go to the bank. In between those two things I of course showered and applied minimal makeup. And I went ahead and recorded myself putting it on. I thought I would share with all of you some of the things I am using right now and more importantly that my face IS NOT perfect. In the first few minutes you can really see all the imperfections on my face. I have uneven skin tone and large pores that are very obvious. But the makeup I use does a good job of covering them. Like I said, lazy day, so I did not apply my makeup as thoroughly as I do on days I actually get out of the house.

The video includes my primer, my concealers, my foundation, finishing powder, and I even went ahead and applied a little blush. You will see in the video that I DO NOT apply blush to the apples of my cheeks. This is kind of a hot topic. My face is round so applying color to the apple of my cheeks just makes them look harsh. Really it makes me look like a overdramatized doll with rosy cheeks. I do not like it at all. So I apply it behind the apple up my cheek bones. It works much better for me. I know there are some makeup artists that think wearing blush like that is "So 80's!" But it is just everyday for me :) I also want to add that I did not buff my blush in much in this video. I did however use my MAC MSF in Perfect Topping over it as a highlight and buffed it a bit. It looks really pretty!

Mini Reviews:

Laura Mercier Primer: I have tried SOOO many primers recently. And I have a few favorites. This is the best one yet though. This goes on like a really light moisturizer. It sets really quickly and leaves my face feeling ready for foundation. I can't really describe the feeling as anything more than "primed". It definitely makes a difference in the application of my foundation and it keeps it from moving all over my face. It isn't oily at all and I haven't had any breakouts using it. I highly recommend getting this and trying it. I think you can get some samples of it at Sephora if you ask for it.

Neutrogena 3-in-1 Under Eye Concealer: I have been using this for a couple weeks now and I still like it. I don't think it gets rid of bags under my eyes but it does seem to reduce the puffiness a bit. It isn't immediate results but after having it on for a bit I can look and see that some of the puffiness has definitely gone away. It conceals decently depending on how dark my bags are that day. So if you don't get really dark circles under your eyes but slight puffiness and a little discoloration I would recommend this. I am a mom so I tend to have dark circles and bags a lot lol!

Benefit Boi-ing Concealer: I just recently bought this from Sephora in shade 01. I do like this but I do not think it is as good as what it claims to be. I wouldn't call it an industrial strength concealer. It does not conceal as much as I would like it to however it DOES stay put. Luckily the mix of this and the foundation I am using does cover most of my blemishes and rough spots nicely.

Stila Oil-Free Natural Finish Liquid Foundation: I plan on doing a video rreview on this ocne i have used it more. So far I can say that the color is a perfect match to my skintone which is so pleasant! It goes on very smoothly and it stays put for most of the day. I have not had any breakouts using this so far. All in All I think it is safe to say that this MIGHT be one of my HG foundations but I want to use it a bit longer before I OFICIALLY announce the HG candidacy!

Make Up For Ever HD Powder: I just bought this on Sunday and have only used this twice so there isn't much I can say about this now. I can say that i do like the texture of this powder and I do think it gives a nice finishing effect. You only need a small amount so if you do purchase this it will last a long time. I will do a review on this after I have used it for a while.

MAC Pinch O Peach blush: This blush is gorgeous. This was my first time using it, if you couldn't tell lol. I think this is an amazing color and it goes on very smooth. I highly recommend this blush and I am really happy that I got it! I will do another review on this when I do my MAC blush video review!

If you have any questions about any of these products or you just wanna talk about them leave me a comment. Thanks!

Comparison: MAC Carbon vs MAC Black Tied

Two black eyeshadows. Who needs both? In my opinion, everyone! I don't wear a lot of dark colors but when I do I rock them. I love blacks and I like having variety. A lot of people think that these two eye shadows are way too similar to justify owning both. And to some people this might be true. But I don't see how a matte color and a shadow with shimmer can be described the same way. It isn't always JUST about the color. It is about the texture and wear too. Both of these shadows wear really well. They stay on for a long time and can even be a little hard to get rid of.

I feel like the Black Tied is much easier to work with and goes on really smooth. The Carbon isn't "difficult" to work with but it definitely isn't as smooth as Black Tied. But that is how I feel about all MAC matte colors whether it be a eyeshadow/pro pan or a pigment. The difference between the two seems quite obvious from the picture above right? Well take a look at the swatches...

They look pretty close huh? I thought for sure the Carbon would be darker but low and behold Black Tied actually came out to be a bit darker. And it has much more depth to it I (which should be expected when comparing it to a mate shade). This is where I got confused. A lot of people have made reviews on Black Tied where they claim it goes on more gray than black. This is definitely not the case for me. It went on very dark and the shimmer I thought for sure was going to over power the color actually looked really nice and "relaxed". Black Tied to me almost has a bluish green sheen to it. Both of these are a definite MUST for my MAC collection and will do wonders for a smokey eye.

I didn't use any kind of eyeshadow primer but I did put a thin layer of foundation on my hand before swatching these. Results may vary. If you are looking for a matte black shadow that resembles MAC Carbon you should try NYX Black. It is $5.99 as opposed to MAC's $14.50 or $11 (for the pro pan).
